Camping

We have over 5 acres of camping space available in 2 fields. The park commands superb views of the beautiful Lym Valley and whilst the overall terrain is sloping the vast majority of pitches are on flat or terraced land. Shelter is provided by the hedges bordering the park and by the mature and growing trees dotted throughout the site. The site is located away from major roads and so retains it's peaceful, rural atmosphere. Many of our regular campers enjoy nothing more than to sit out, read the paper and savour the peace and quiet. Camping fields
The site has a small climbing frame and swings for the children and plenty of parking for boats and trailers. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a short lead whilst on the park and under control at all times. For their exercise we have a dog walking area in the pleasant surroundings of our cider orchard. Sorry, but we do not accept Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans and Bullmastiffs. Many of the pitches have electric hook-up points. Electric sockets and lights are available for hire but should be booked in advance.

Toilet and washroom facilities are provided by 2 modern, purpose built blocks (one was completed in 2000 the other in 2003) and include laundry and drying facilities. Hairdryers are available in both Men's and Ladies sections and operate on a 20p coin meter. To avoid excessive queing, and with conservation of water in mind, our showers also operate on a 20p coin meter - which provides four and a half minutes (we believe thet to be a good length of time for a shower). We have plenty of 20p pieces so no need to stock up before you arrive. Please note: whilst we do have disabled washroom facilities we believe our park is not appropriate for disabled campers due to its sloping terrain and sloping access points. Please see below for our full list of Terms and Conditions.

Our on-site shop sells freshly baked croissants and pastries most mornings and we also stock basic food requirements, drinks and camping essentials. There is a local information section to provide you with details on events and attractions. Should our shop be closed for any reason there is a Village Store/Newsagent only 400 yards away which is open 7 days a week and is very well stocked. For additional convenience we provide freezers (free of charge) to re-freeze your ice packs.

Camping Terms and Conditions

All guests (and their visitors) staying at Hook Farm are required to observe the following conditions:

  • Arrival and Departure: From 1st March to 31st March and from 12th September to 1st November you are welcome to arrive between 1.00pm and 7.00pm. From 1st June to 11th September you are welcome to arrive between and from 12.00 noon to 8.00pm. All arrivals must register with reception before going on to the park. Pitches must be vacated by 11.00am on day of departure leaving the pitch in a tidy manner and, in particular, free of any fossils or stones collected during the holiday. Outside of the High Season a late departure (through to 6pm) can be arranged (subject to the pitch being available) for a small fee of £5.
  • Dogs: All dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times on the park and exercised in the area provided. Please ensure that your dog does not cause annoyance to other park users and is never left unattended on the park. Any fouling must be cleared using the bins provided. Sorry, but we do not accept Staffordshire or English Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans and Bullmastiffs.
  • Noise: The playing of vehicle stereos is strictly prohibited on the park. Musical instruments, radios, CD players and similar appliances should be used considerately during the day and should not disturb or be a nuisance to fellow campers. Noise in general must kept to an absolute minimum after 11.00pm and before 7am.
  • BBQs: No open fires are to be made on the park. Portable barbecues are permitted but must be at least 6" off the ground - if a stand is required please use the bricks we have made available. Please do not burn wood in the BBQ.
  • Children: Children must be supervised at all times and children under 8 must always be accompanied by an adult in the washrooms. We ask that the play area is not used after 8.30pm. Sorry, but water games are not allowed anywhere on the park.
  • Washroom Facilites: Please leave the basins, toilets and showers clean and tidy and as you would wish to find them.
  • Vehicles, Terracing and Lighting: Please note that certain areas of the park are terraced. Please do not climb the banks and vehicle access must always be via designated roads. The speed limit is strictly 5mph. The Lym Valley is designated a "Dark Valley" so the Park has restricted lighting at night, the use of a torch is strongly recommended.
  • Groups: Sorry, but groups of more than 4 adults, or more than 2 families together are not accepted unless affiliated to a recognised club or society. We also do not accept single sex groups of 4 adults or more unless by prior arrangement.
  • General: All tents, cars and personal belongings must be contained within the designated pitch. We are unable to give refunds if the pitch is vacated early (except in extenuating circumstances and at the park owner's discretion). We reserve the right to refuse entry to the park or remove any tent or caravan should it be considered necessary. The refund of the appropriate portion of any site rental shall be sufficient discharge of all obligations to any person who is required to vacate the park. The park owner shall not be liable for any loss or damage or accident to any persons or private property, however caused, whilst staying on the park or using the facilities or amenities.
  • Bookings: All bookings made in advance are subject to the following conditions: For bookings made for the Low and Mid Season a deposit of £20 is required immediately by cheque (sorry, we don't accept credit cards) and the balance can be paid on arrival by cash or cheque with a guarantee card. For bookings made for the High Season a deposit of £30 is required immediately by cheque and the balance must be made by cheque again at least four weeks in advance (if the booking is made within four weeks of arrival full payment must be sent immediately). Please make cheques payable to "Hook Farm". Altenatively a quicker and easier way to pay is by internet bank transfer - if you would like to do pay in this way please call us and we will let you our account details. Please send an SAE if confirmation of booking is required. Any deposit paid forms part of the total bill for the booking. The final bill is the total fee less any deposit paid. The following is our Cancellation Policy; a full refund will be given in the event of the cancellation of a holiday fourteen full days prior to the arrival date. In the event of cancellation less than fourteen full days prior to the arrival date, or in the event of an early departure of a booked holiday, we reserve the right to retain all monies paid unless the pitch can be re-let in which case a relevant refund will be made. In the event of failure to arrive without prior notice (and including failure to arrive by the latest Arrival Times specified above) we reserve the right to retain all monies paid.
